Living on in eclectic dreams...

Looking at the overall situation of the world on this set of blogspace... A look at the world news major topics from the viewpoint of what is going on for freelance journalists like myself and worth looking into further.

Looking at the illegal or undocumented immigrant status debate in the USA one headline grabs my attention. The Mytle Beach "online" reports that north Carolina has a plan that would bar illegal aliens from getting their winnings if they won that State's Lottery.

It says they need a social security Number, a green card, a photo ID, and or a US foreign passport in order to claim winnings of over $800. Ok - but most have a foreign passport - the rule makes no mention of legal visa stamp inside the passport to presented.

Ok yeah like; the paper seems to forget you can pick up an ID almost anywhere and most illegals do have social security numbers- fake cards bought in swap meets! So back to the drawing board ....

meanwhile... Other states along the Mexican border don't use any restrictions on residency for claiming prizes the article claims... Not quite the case... California has strict requirements on the laws and policies covered under tax policy but not immigration. There was recently famous incident of a "illegal" who the INS deported backs to El Salvador after he won a multi-million dollar lotto prize... The man agreed- bought a first class upgraded ticket and now has a thriving business there... What many states forget -- is that economic migrants -- more often than not only want to come into the USA or western world to work- make it rich -- or at least get comfortable and go home.
